It is with great pleasure I take up the role of Chair for the Northern Ireland Interim National Council. The Council is made up of members with a wide range of experience and expertise; we will work together to ensure that we are a voice for members and to improve the quality of life for people affected by MS in Northern Ireland.
We have taken part in a comprehensive induction programme. We had our first meeting on Thursday 16 April at the Resource Centre in Belfast and had discussions around our planned work programme for our first year and around our prioritisation areas. We are particularly interested in looking at the current provision of support for newly diagnosed people and carers and how the Society can effectively support these groups of people.
We are here to work on your behalf and to act as a voice for members in Northern Ireland. We want the work of the Council to be transparent and accessible to our members and welcome your views and opinions.
