Resource Centre
The Resource Centre is located on Annadale Avenue and is a place where people with MS can come to relax and have social interaction in a safe and secure environment. The Centre is open to everyone affected by MS and all are welcome to call in for a cup of coffee and a chat or to access services and up to date information on all aspects of MS.
MS Society Day Centre
The Resource Centre is also where the MS Society Day Centre is located. At the Day Centre, we aim to ensure that the social, emotional and spiritual needs of each client are met. The individuality of each client is respected and promoted in a caring and supportive environment. We aim at all times to ensure that the client and their needs come first. Care of the highest standard is provided - care that embraces and acknowledges the basic principles of good care, privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment. Some of the activities and services available at the Resource Centre are listed below. If you are interested in accessing any of these services or would like to find out more about them, please do not hesitate to contact us on 028 9080 2802.Physiotherapy - we have a specialist physiotherapy service available by appointment for people with MS
Reflexology / aromatherapy - this service is available on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings and one Saturday each month.
Yoga classes - these take place each Thursday from 11.00am - 12.30pm. The class is hosted by Belfast Metropolitan College and runs for fifiteen weeks per term.
Art classes - these take place each Thursday from 1.30 - 3.30. The class is hosted by Belfast Metropolitan College and runs for fifteen weeks per term.
Cost: whilst there are costs attached to some of these activities, the MS Society does subsidise these to make sure the cost to the user is minimal.
Information
The Resource Centre also has an information room fully stocked with up to date information materials on all aspects of MS. We also have computers and internet access available.Staff are also on hand to deal with any queries about living with MS. We have an open door policy so feel free to drop in at any time. Volunteers
Volunteers have a huge input into the day-to-day activities of the members attending the Resource Centre. Roles in which volunteers are involved include aromatherapy, help at meal times, driving coaches and craft assistants.Find out more about becoming a volunteer
