Resource Centre
The Resource Centre is a place where people with MS can come to relax and have social interaction in a safe and secure environment.
We have trained care staff on hand to cater for everyone's needs should they be great or small. We offer a wide range of services and activities at the Centre.
Activities
We have a number of activities including Scrabble, bingo, quiz, card making and manicures.Services
We provide a number of services including reflexology, aromatherapy, physiotherapy, yoga, reiki (healing hands), computer classes (informal) and hand massage.Information and advice
Advice and information is given on many different areas of life affected by having MS. This is an integral part of the work of the Resource Centre staff and if advice is not easily available then the appropriate body of knowledge is accessed. Quite often this results in either group meetings or workshops by the relevant professionals. The Society endeavours to regularly update members' knowledge on the developments in research into the causes of MS and other aspects of life with MS.Referral
The Community Services Officer, Social Services, Care workers and Healthcare professionals refer most members attending the Resource but many are self or family referrals.Volunteers
Volunteers have a huge input into the day to day activities of the members attending the Resource Centre. Roles in which volunteers are involved include aromatherapy, help at meal times, driving coaches and craft assistants.Find out more about becoming a volunteer
