How we can help …

Accurate and relevant information

We produce publications on all aspects of living with MS.

Confidential support

If a person has been newly diagnosed or needs extra support The Society is able to provide confidential advice and help on all aspects of MS. This service also extends to the family.

Network of support branches

Seventeen local branches are run largely by volunteers with personal experience of MS. They offer a variety of activities, support and information.

Campaigning for care and equality

We are the recognised first point of contact for the press and media on MS in Northern Ireland. The Society continuously campaigns for improved quality, equality and accessibility of service.

Advocacy

We actively seek the views of people living with MS regarding the services they receive. Open consultation meetings allow people to voice concerns in relation to all aspects of their care.

Benefits advice and financial assistance

The Society provides a signposting service for advice on benefits and also small amounts of financial assistance through our Individual Support Grant procedure.

Social Centre / day care / transport

Based at the MS Resource Centre, 34 Annadale Avenue, Belfast.

Support for the whole family

Including young people living in a family affected by MS.

Training

Branch training including fundraising, finance and individual support grants.

Referrals

Referrals to and from health care professionals including co-funded MS Specialist Nurses. The Society co-funds two MS Specialist Nurses in the Northern and Western Board Areas.
